OHIO UNIVERSITY - CHILLICOTHE

2017 News Fall Graduation Reception
December 20, 2017 : 2017 Fall Graduation Reception

Thirty graduates were recognized at the Ohio University Chillicothe Graduation Reception on Dec. 14, 2017 held in Ohio University Chillicothe’s Stevenson Center. Students who completed their degree programs in either the summer or fall of this year were acknowledged by faculty, staff and fellow students.

Ohio University Chillicothe Campus Dean, Dr. Martin Tuck, addressed the graduates during the ceremony and formal certificates for degree completion were received.

“We are celebrating a momentous occasion in the lives of these individuals,” said Dr. Martin Tuck. “Earning a college degree is a rigorous endeavor. It’s not easy as it takes time, perseverance and plenty of sacrifice. Many of you have balanced family and job responsibilities all while completing your studies. Today, all of that hard work pays off and you are to be commended.”

Following the ceremony, punch and cookies were served to celebrate the graduates’ accomplishments.

Jenny Grigsby, Early Childhood Education major and four-year Women’s Basketball player shares, “I had a great experience at OUC. Not only were my instructors wonderful, but the friendships I have made with my peers is invaluable.” Grigsby will begin working at Westfall Elementary School in January as a tutor before moving to Michigan this summer.

Health Services Administration graduate, Chris Rooney, also shares, “I attribute my success at OUC to my professors. My professors were all really great at building us up and giving us the material needed to excel. In fact, during some of my interviews, many employers have been impressed with the content I have learned and at how prepared I am for the job.” Rooney has some potential job leads and is confident that he will find suitable employment.

Graduates are welcome to participate in the Recognition of Graduation Ceremony at Ohio University Chillicothe on May 4 in the Shoemaker Center.
