OHIO UNIVERSITY - CHILLICOTHE

2018 News Inclement Weather
January 18, 2018 : Inclement Weather Reminder

Closures will be disbursed on multiple outlets to ensure our students have access to the most up-to-date information which includes OUC’s website, social media sites, NBC 4, WKKJ 94.3 radio, the Chillicothe Gazette, recorded on the OUC phone message system, and sent through our text messaging alerts.

The safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff is our number one priority. In the event that OUC administrators determine that campus must be closed or classes delayed due to inclement weather, a determination will be made and broadcast by 7 AM. for morning classes, 10:30 AM for afternoon classes, and by 3:30 PM for evening classes.

If the Ross County Sheriff’s office issues a Level 3 or beyond emergency, OUC will close automatically.

Announcements for closures and delays will include the date of cancellation, part of the day (delay or full closure) and location. Special events will also automatically be canceled during campus-wide cancellations or closings. Instructors may cancel individual classes, many of which are posted on the OUC class cancellation website. Students should check their Catmail and Blackboard for further instructions.

Students are reminded to use their best judgment when commuting to classes if they are not canceled due to the varying nature of road conditions throughout the area.

OUC maintains the OUC Alert webpage where users can learn about Chillicothe campus emergency closures or other alerts. To sign up to receive text alerts from Ohio University or learn more about OHIO alert notifications, visit the OHIO emergency programs website.
