Godsey closes out 2-year season with 1000th point accomplishment

We are bringing you a story from 2016 that highlights a past accomplishment of former OUC basketball player Noah Godsey that was not covered at the time.

OUC men’s basketball student-athlete, Noah Godsey, accomplished a personal milestone by scoring his 1,000th career point Feb. 21, 2016.

The Columbus native peaked his college athletic career during the Ohio University Chillicothe versus Ohio University Lancaster game where he accomplished this feat.

“I was always more focused on the win and seeing my team happy so I was never really focused on how many points I was scoring,” Godsey noted when asked about his work to meet this goal. “I was just grateful that God had allowed me to get that far and blessed me to have that opportunity because I was an older athlete.”

Godsey, who was 28 when he achieved this personal best, is studying Applied Management at OUC.

He explained that he was hesitant to go back to school because of his age, and especially play sports, but he overcame his apprehension.

“I decided to go back to school when I was 25 and to actually accomplish that [goal] made me realize that I could accomplish many other things, too,” he said.

In just two years, he attained a feat that takes many other athletes four years to achieve. He finished out his basketball career with 1,018 points.

He hopes to become an entrepreneur once he graduates and work in the online and marketing fields.
