2018 News Kennedy Lecturer
April 16, 2018 : Kennedy Series Lecturer Piper Kerman To Visit Campus On Apr. 17

Ohio University Chillicothe will host its annual Kennedy Lecture on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. The lecture will be held at 2 p.m. in the Bennett Hall Auditorium.

This year’s speaker, Piper Kerman, author of the memoir “Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison,” will discuss her experiences in prison and address questions from the audience. Her book has been adapted into an Emmy Award-winning original comedy-drama series for Netfilx created by Jenji Kohan.

The annual Kennedy Lecture at OUC aims to attract nationally recognized speakers who share expertise from diverse fields. Funded through an Ohio University grant, previous speakers include: author Dr. Miki Crawford, who presented work from her book Japanese War Brides in America: An Oral History, historian Dr. Charles McKinney, who spoke on recent civil rights issues, and Russian-American political scholar, Dr. George Hudson.

Teachers, students, and community members are welcome to the free lecture. Seating in the auditorium is first-come, first-served.
