ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED BUSINESS

The Business Management Technology (BMT) program is structured so the student will acquire the necessary knowledge for entry-level management positions in a wide range of business situations. This program is ideal for the individual who is currently employed and is seeking credentials that will help them advance. The BMT curriculum is well suited to support the small business owner or entrepreneur who is in need of the skills and knowledge necessary to better manage and grow their enterprise.

Course of Study

The BMT curriculum may be pursued on either a full-time or part-time basis. Students typically start fall semester, but may enter the program at any point during the academic calendar. Full-time students should enroll in 15 or more credit hours per semester. Part-time students may pursue the degree at a rate they desire, however, a minimum of seven credit hours of course work each semester is recommended.

Facilities

The BMT program features a unique learning environment complete with multimedia classrooms and a business bureau that provides students an opportunity to participate in the area economy.

Location

Many BMT classes are held in the new Technology and Business Development Center located next to the Shoemaker Center on the eastern side of campus.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for admission, a student must be a high school graduate or GED recipient. Students not meeting these requirements should contact the Admissions Office at OHIO Chillicothe for further information concerning admission. Students completing the degree requirements will earn an Associate of Applied Business Degree in Business Management Technology.

Students are eligible for many different financial aid resources. These include:

  • Federal Grants and Loans
  • Ohio University Scholarships
  • State Grants and Loans
     

To begin the process, you should apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible. For OHIO Chillicothe, use the University Federal School Code: 003100 and 003102.

Students are exposed to a broad range of business concepts and issues in the areas of management, marketing, finance, accounting, economics, computer concepts, human resources, government regulations, and communications. Additionally, the program offers the flexibility to pursue specific interests within the business field.
