Current Student FAQs

Student ID pictures are taken in the Admissions Office. You should have had this done at orientation. Replacement IDs will be charged to your student account in the amount of $25.

To add or drop a class, you must do so through your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  other academic…   ➢  Enrollment: Drop

To register for classes, you must do so through your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  Enroll.  Make an appointment with your advisor prior to your registration date.

 To find out your registration date, you must do so through your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center.  

On the right hand side of the page, you should see a box labeled Enrollment Dates. Once the registration dates have been assigned for the new semester, your specific date and time will appear in this box. After all of the priority registration dates have passed, the box will have an Open Enrollment Dates link. Don’t forget to make an appointment with your advisor prior to your registration date. 

To change your name, you must do so in your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  Demographic Data  ➢  Names

You can make changes to your address and phone number in your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  Demographic Data  ➢  Addresses or Phone Numbers

You must fill out an Update of Programs form in the Hilltopper Advising Center. Once the form is complete, OHIO Chillicothe will mail your form to Athens for processing

To see who your academic advisor is you must log onto your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center. On the right hand side of the page, you should see a box labeled Advisor. The name of your advisor will appear in this box.

To change your advisor, you must fill out a Change of Advisor form in the Hilltopper Advising Center.

There could be several reasons why a hold is placed on your account. You can find what hold has been placed on your account by visiting http://sis.ohio.edu and choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  Details and Holds.

The final exam schedule is located at http://www.ohio.edu/registrar/finals.cfm.

You may view your grades in your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  other academic…  ➢  Grades

You may view your awards in your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  Demographic Data  ➢  Participation

Yes. After October 1 a new FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov for the upcoming academic year.

You may view your financial aid in your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  View Financial Aid

You may enroll in the monthly payment plan through your student account at http://sis.ohio.edu by choosing: Self Service  ➢  Student Center  ➢  other financial…    ➢  Enroll in Payment Plan

You may look online at www.ohiouniversityjobs.com for any student assistant positions available. 

Yes. Free tutoring services are available for current students. Full-time math and English tutors are available when needed. Students requiring additional assistance in other courses can request further support.

In order to become a SI tutor, please contact the Student Success Center located in the Stevenson Center.
