Ohio University Chillicothe's Continuing Education Office offers a variety of certification and professional development opportunities to support the Chillicothe community. We provide flexible and affordable education programs, seminars, workshops, business and industry training programs, and facilities that meet the demands for the community we serve.
We address a diverse range of educational needs for various constituents, including:

- Individuals desiring occasional or special interest study.
- Customized or contract training programs for companies and professional organizations.
- Facility rentals for training, including a 7-acre Emergency Response Training Center.

Fire and Emergency Personnel
Located on the Ohio University Chillicothe Campus, a seven-acre Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC) awaits students, industry personnel, and first responders concerned with chemical and hazardous materials accidents. Both fixed-site and mobile training is available.

The ERTC site includes opportunities to train on rappelling, silo rescue, vehicle extrication, firefighting, hazardous materials, decontamination protocols, confined space entry, and more. Three mobile trailers can deliver confined space and hazardous materials training to industrial locations with qualified instructors. Training, such as HAZWOPER, can be delivered within an industrial site.
