Degree & Certificate Programs Offered On Our Campus
OUC offers a broad array of degree programs and certifications to prepare students for their future careers in high-demand jobs. We provide coursework for more than 20 degree programs in Chillicothe and offer access to coursework for Ohio University degrees in Athens or at another campus.
Beyond traditional instruction, the Chillicothe Campus offers a variety of one or two-day credit workshops, fully online courses and hybrid courses, which provide a mix of online and face-to-face instruction, and an extensive selection of summer courses for current and transient students. In addition, the campus hosts high school students under the CCP (College Credit Plus) option. The Chillicothe Campus also reaches into the community with non-credit workshops, business and corporate training, the 60+ program for senior citizens.

Associate of Arts (AA)
This program offers students an emphasis in arts with two tracks of study to choose from – Arts & Humanities or Social Sciences. Coursework focuses on the liberal arts and provides a broad basis for many different degree paths.
Associate of Applied Business – Accounting Technology (ATCH)
This program prepares graduates to enter the workforce in junior accountant positions in a number of job sectors. It provides students the accounting skills needed to perform such duties as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, bookkeeping, auditing, and tax return preparation.
Associate of Applied Business – Business Management Technology (BMT)
The Business Management Technology program is structured so students will acquire the necessary knowledge for entry level management positions in a wide range of business situations. Curriculum is well-suited to support small business ownership or entrepreneurship and helps those who are employed and looking to advance their credentials.
Associate of Applied Business - Computer Science Technology (CTCH)
The Associate of Applied Business (A.A.B) degree in Computer Science Technology at Ohio University Chillicothe prepares students for entry level IT (Information Technology) positions. The curriculum offers hands-on learning, enabling students to develop critical skills in areas such as IT technical support, network administration, web site development, database administration, software development, and testing.
Associate of Applied Business - Office Administration Technology (OAT)
This program prepares you for employment in various office environments including positions such as an administrative assistant or an office manager. Courses emphasize the importance of computer literacy, technology, and communication skills. The OAT program features state-of- the-art computer labs as well as software applications and innovative teaching/learning methods that are reflective of the latest in technology.
Associate of Individualized Studies (AIS)
The Associate of Individualized Study degree at Ohio University - Chillicothe is a unique opportunity for you to create a degree program that fits a specific educational niche that the University cannot meet through already established degree programs.
Associate of Science (AS)
The Associate Degree in Science allows you the flexibility to select from a wide variety of coursework that supports studies in the liberal arts, completion of Baccalaureate and pre-professional degrees, or transfer in or out of Ohio University.
Associate of Applied Science - Human Services Technology (HST)
The program offers a generalist approach, which provides knowledge and skills applicable to a diversity of settings. Placements are available in a variety of settings and programs such as: mental health, chemical dependency, social services, domestic violence, adult and juvenile corrections, prevention services, children services, Goodwill, and community action programs.
Associate of Applied Science - Law Enforcement Technology (LET)
The Law Enforcement Technology (LET) program is designed for in-service law enforcement personnel and those seeking a career in law enforcement. The program provides professional training and credit, which may be applied toward a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Ohio University. The LET Program is available in an online format for individuals already in a career, or other students desiring schedule flexibility.
Associate of Science – Nursing (ASN) Upon completion of the associate degree, the graduate is prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination which leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Graduates of the associate degree program may choose to enter the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (RN to BSN) Program is offered online through the Athens Campus School of Nursing.
Associate of Science Advanced Placement for Licensed Practical Nurses (ASN)
The two-year Associate of Science Degree in Nursing program at Ohio University-Chillicothe enjoys an established reputation for graduating well prepared, high quality registered nurses. The program is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing, The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Ohio Board of Regents, and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Upon completion of the Associate Degree, the working graduate is prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination which leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Bachelor Degree Programs Offered in Chillicothe:
Bachelor of Science in Applied Management (BSAM)
This degree provides students with knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for advancement in the field of management. For the student with an associate degree, the program integrates the general and technical skills developed with-in associate degree programs with the professional skills and dispositions inculcated in a bachelor's of management degree program.
Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies (COMS)
Courses combine theory and practice as students are taught the historical and conceptual foundations of the communication field. At the same time, they equip students with skills in speaking, writing, critical thinking, discussion, and problem solving. The individual concentrations and their associated courses specialize in different branches of the communication field.
Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (BCJ)
This degree is designed for students who have already completed an associate's degree in a related area such as Law Enforcement Technology, Human Services Technology, Corrections Technology, or Police Administration.
Bachelor of Science in Education – Early Childhood Education (EDEC)
This degree prepares students to teach children three years old through third grade. In addition to being qualified to teach in primary grades, students will be prepared to teach in pre-primary programs, such as public school preschools, private pre-kindergarten schools, childcare centers and Head Start Programs.
Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education (EDMC)
The Middle Childhood Education program includes six majors with academic specializations in any two of the following content specializations: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. This major will prepare you to teach Language Arts and Social Studies in grades 4-9 in Ohio.
Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration (HSA)
This degree prepares you for entry-level management and staff positions in all sectors of the health care industry. Students will be prepared for positions in acute, sub-cute, and ambulatory care facilities such as hospitals, clinics, home health agencies, manages care organizations, and other emerging health delivery systems.
Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology (BA2128)
The Bachelor of Arts, with a major in biological sciences - human biology is designed for students interested in human biology and its application to allied health care professions (e.g., occupational therapy, genetic counseling, and, with careful choice of electives, physician assistant and physical therapy programs). This curriculum is also suitable for students who wish to enter law, public health, and health policy fields with a strong science background.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
This four-year undergraduate degree provides the classroom and clinical education to prepare graduates for the challenges of complex and changing health-care systems. Upon completion, the graduate is prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination which leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Bachelor of Science in Social Work (SW)
The undergraduate program in social work prepares students for beginning social work practice at the undergraduate level. Students will complete course work in human behavior and the social environment, social welfare history, and policy, research, social work practice methods, and field instruction.
Bachelor of Science in Specialized Studies (BSS)
By its nature, the specialized studies degree is unique to each individual. Making a general statement regarding career preparation impractical. The application process, however, requires a statement of rationale for pursuing the major and for selection of the curriculum plan. This statement includes the student's educational and career goals. Many B.S.S. students design a major with a specific career or graduate program in mind.
Bachelor of Science in Technical and Applied Studies (BTAS) This degree is primarily intended for students who have already completed an applied associate degree from an accredited community college, regional campus, or technical college, and who wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree. It provides students with knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for advancement in their chosen careers, and integrates the technical skills developed within applied associate degree programs with the professional skills inculcated in a bachelor's degree program.

Southern Ohio Police Training Institute
SOPTI is approximately six months in length and is offered through the Ohio University - Chillicothe Continuing Education program. SOPTI provides the cadet with the fundamentals of entry - level peace officer training, required for those seeking certification and employment as a law enforcement officer.
