Call for Abstracts

Innovative Environmental Monitoring Technology Symposium

October 17-18, 2016

Ohio University, Athens, Ohio

 

Hosted by the Partnership for Digitally Connected Environmental Monitoring

 

It is a pleasure to invite you to the Innovative Environmental Monitoring Technology Symposium. The conference is organized by the Partnership for Digitally Connected Environmental Monitoring at Ohio University and will take place in Athens, Ohio on October 17-18, 2016.

The Innovative Environmental Monitoring Technology Symposium aims to bring together researchers, regulators, and practitioners in different fields of environmental monitoring who are interested in using technology to solve monitoring problems. Attendees are invited from industry, universities, NGO’s , venture capital, utilities, federal/ state regulatory agencies, cities and counties focused on enhanced quality in monitoring for air, water and terrestrial parameters.

The conference theme is Solving Environmental Monitoring Problems with New Technology.

Keynote Address on October 17: Dr. Margaret Palmer, Director, National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center

Topics of interest:

  • Innovative techniques in environmental monitoring (e.g. drones for environmental monitoring, telemetry in challenged environments, crowdsourced environmental data, novel sensors)
  • Applications of novel technology to air, water, or terrestrial monitoring
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to environmental monitoring

The deadline to submit abstracts is July 15, 2016. Extended to July 31, 2016!

Submissions are being accepted for three presentation types:

  • Traditional oral presentation
  • Poster presentation
  • Lightning talk (5 minutes, up to 20 slides) presentation of an environmental monitoring problem that could become a topic for a breakout session

Deadline for abstract submission: July 15, 2016. Extended to July 31, 2016!

Notification of acceptance: August 15, 2016

Early Bird Registration Deadline: September 15, 2016
