Strickland, panel urge climate-change action

In 2007, Ohio University joined 14 other universities around the state to form the University Clean Energy Alliance of Ohio (UCEAO) "in recognition of the importance of advanced energy research, education and commercialization for the environmental and economic wellbeing of the state and the nation."

On Tuesday, August 6, UCEAO co-hosted a panel on climate change in Columbus.

The Columbus Dispatch writes, "Former Gov. Ted Strickland and a group of experts yesterday called on Ohioans to act now to reduce climate change. "The debate on whether climate change exists is over," Strickland said. "The debate now must be focused on how climate change is affecting our communities.""
