Xizhen "Jenny" Schenk
Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1 to 2 p.m., or by appointment
Ph.D. in Geology, 2012, Florida State University
My research interests focus on better understanding of the impacts of anthropogenic land use activities and climate variation on surface water and groundwater quality, quantity, and sustainability using both field and numerical approaches. Some of my past projects involved quantifying and differentiating impacts of climate variation, instream modification, and anthropogenic land use change on river hydrological and geomorphologic processes in the Red River of the North basin; understanding the effects of sea level rise on Northwest Florida salt marshes using SLAMM models; and assessing impacts of saltwater encroachment on the Upper Floridan Aquifer in the Southern Water Use Caution Area in Southwest Florida.
