Online M.S.S. Admissions
Students can start any semester—fall, spring or summer.
The fall semester deadline is July 31. The spring semester deadline is Nov. 15. The deadline for submitting applications for a summer session is April 15.

No GRE or letters of recommendation are needed for this program. However, students will provide a short (not more than 500 word) personal statement briefly describing their previous experiences and explaining what they hope to accomplish in the M.S.S. program.
An applicant for admission to this program must have:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- An undergraduate GPA of 3.00. Prospective students with an undergraduate GPA lower than 3.00 are encouraged to apply for conditional admission. Conditionally admitted students are expected to get at least a 3.0 GPA and maintain it throughout the program.

English Proficiency. All non-native English speakers must demonstrate English proficiency by submitting official test scores for either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS academic). To be considered official, test scores must be reported directly from the testing agency to Ohio University. Minimum TOEFL-iBT 104. IELTS 7.5 minimum across all bands. In addition, the individual section scores on the TOEFL should be at least 26. More information on English Proficiency.
Note that according to Ohio University policies, an international student who is currently in the United States cannot pursue a degree program such as the M.S.S. program which is completely online.
No more than 12 quarter or 8 semester hours taken within the last five years in a maximum of three graduate courses passed with a grade of "B" or better will be accepted for this program from another college or university. Credit earned in other Ohio University programs which, in the judgment of the coordinator, is appropriate for this program, may be applied toward completion of the degree. The courses submitted for transfer credit should have been taken in the social sciences.

Completed application forms, including copies of undergraduate transcripts, should be sent directly to the Graduate College. (No letters of recommendation or GRE scores are necessary for this program.)
