Economics Faculty Achievements

2013-14

Julia Paxton was awarded the Presidential Teaching Award and Ariaster Chimeli was awarded the Dean’s Outstanding Teaching Award.

Ariaster Chimeli was a Co-PI on National Science Foundation grants totaling $1.9 million.

The Masters in Financial Economics program was endorsed by the CFA Institute’s University Recognition Program. Khosrow Doroodian obtained the endorsement.

The first cohort of graduate students have begun classes at the National Economics University in Hanoi, Vietnam as part of the department’s one-in-one program with that university.

Xi Liu earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.

Vahe Lskavyan was awarded a grant to participate in the Post-Secondary Curriculum Development Project at the University of Michigan’s Center for Russian and East European Studies.

Harold Winter's book Trade-Offs: An Introduction to Economic Reasoning and Social Issues, Second Edition, was published by the University of Chicago Press.

Fifteen Group 1 faculty published ten scholarly papers or books and participated in 14 professional conferences and invited lectures.
