ICCB 2019 - Registration Process

Extended abstract submission window: March 8 – May 15, 2019.
Conference registration window: March 1 – June 1, 2019.
Please review these tips before you register or submit an abstract:

  • On the first page, please select the student or non-student rate by clicking on “view details”. The rate includes all fees related to conference sessions, local shuttles, airport pickups/returns, lunches, conference refreshments, welcome reception and social activities.
  • On the second page, you will be asked first to enter your personal information. You will then be asked to select a preferred menu for the conference banquet (if you are not planning to attend the banquet, please select the “no banquet” option in the drop-down menu).
  • Select your accommodation. We offer three options: (1) a hotel room at the Ohio University Inn (details and pictures are available here); the rate is $119/night (breakfast not included). (2) a single-occupancy dorm room on the Ohio University campus (bathroom shared with another room); $45/night; or (3) a double-occupancy dorm room on the Ohio University campus (bathroom shared with another double-occupancy room); rate $27/night. To book the hotel room at the Ohio University Inn, please follow the link listed on the form. To book dorm rooms, please use the corresponding boxes on the form.
  • Enter some flight information; if you haven’t finalized any plans yet, just leave the space empty. You will be able to enter this information at a later time.
  • We have arranged for five possible recreation activities on the last afternoon of the conference (Wednesday, July 24). As none of these activities can accommodate all participants, we ask that you rank them in order of preference (“1” being your favorite activity, and “5” being the least favorite). The cost of all activities, including transportation, food and beverage, is included in the registration fee. Here are a few explanations about these activities:
    1. Jackie O’s Tour: Jackie O’s is a craft brewery in Athens that is very popular in Ohio. You will visit the brewery, and be given the opportunity to test their production.
    2. Athens Uncorked Wine Tasting: this wine bar is located in uptown Athens, about 700 m from the oldest section of the Ohio University campus.
    3. Eclipse Company Store Event: like Jackie O’s, Eclipse is a local brewery. It is located 9 km outside of Athens in The Plains, Ohio. The event includes visit, lunch and beer tasting.
    4. Athens Museums: we will propose a visit of Ohio University’s Kennedy Museum of Art; exhibits include Southwest Native American textiles, ceramics and jewelry; American paintings; drawings and photography; contemporary prints; ceramics and sculpture). We will also visit the Dairy Barn Arts Center, that features several local arts exhibits, and is well-known in the country for its quilt art exhibition, a folk tradition in Appalachia.
    5. Hocking Hills Park Excursion (walking/sightseeing): a 40-minute bus ride from Athens brings you to Hocking Hills State Park. It features interesting sandstone formations, gorges, and a waterfall. We will visit Ash Cave, the largest recess cave in the State of Ohio, and Cedar Falls if weather permits. This is an easy walking tour; I would still recommend you bring tennis or hiking shoes as terrain can be slippery.
