Swordtail and platy fishes (Xiphophorus)

About the Morris Laboratory

Our lab is interested in the evolution of mating behaviors, animal communication, alternative reproductive tactics and adaptive plasticity. Swordtail and platy fishes (Xiphophorus) provide an excellent system in which to study these topics.
