Personal Website

Catherine Early studies the evolution of the brains of birds and how well the shape of their brains reflect internal neuroanatomy and behavior. To do this, she CT scans the skulls of modern-day and extinct birds and generates virtual models of their brains, which reflect the brain's external shape and size. She is also a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and completed a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Internship at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
