Appointment Policy

Students are expected to keep appointments. If you cannot come to an appointment, please cancel by contacting our office via email or phone. If you miss two appointments without canceling, you will not be able to make another appointment until the following semester.




Directions to Parking at Baker

From US-33 East

  • Exit 33 East at Exit 17 for OH-682 N
  • Continue onto OH-682 N for .5 mi
  • Keep right at the roundabout - first exit onto Richland Ave
  • Turn right onto S Green Drive 
  • Turn left onto Oxbow Trail - continue until Baker University Center is on your right 
  • Parking for the Baker Garage and Lot 122 will be just past Baker

Baker University Center offers hourly parking options in surface lot 122 (metered) and the Baker parking garage. Payment for metered spaces can be managed with  Parkmobile  app.

The Career and Leadership Development Center has conference rooms and meeting spaces available to university and student groups during business hours—8am–5pm, Monday–Friday. Please contact our main office to reserve space. Please find the reservation policies below.

About Us


The Career & Leadership Development Center is committed to holistic preparation of all Ohio University students and alumni/ae for active development and implementation of career and leadership skills necessary in our global community.

We accomplish this by:

  1. Facilitating a process of self-awareness that encourages all students and alumni/ae to engage in career exploration and holistic leadership skill development
  2. Helping students and alumni/ae recognize, synthesize, and communicate their experiences
  3. Fostering collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and employers to connect students with innovative resources, services and employment opportunities
  4. Empowering students to be lifelong learners by providing learning opportunities to construct the following leadership skills; self-awareness, interpersonal development, team development, organizational development and innovation

Open Positions

Through collaboration with energetic colleagues, engagement with thousands of students, and involvement with the development and implementation of innovative services, the CLDC and Ohio University provide diverse opportunities to forward a career in higher education. Last year, over 19,000 students took part in CLDC programs, events, and individual services – and this number grows annually.

The CLDC is based within Ohio University’s Division of Student Affairs – named among the Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs in 2015 by American College Personnel Association.

Located in Baker University Center at the heart of Ohio University’s main campus, the career center offers beautiful, high quality facilities to students and staff. business and technology manager

The Business and Technology Manager for the Career & Leadership Development Center oversees all front desk activities; including hiring, training and supervising seven front desk student staff, administrative support for the Assistant Dean of Students, and the development and organization of monthly statistical reports. The position has direct oversight of the budget, financial and human resources functions, assists with the coordination of department processes and communication, and has oversight of the technological needs of the department. 

The Career & Leadership Development Center interacted with over 21,000 students during the 2016–2017 academic year and operates a $850K budget. In addition to primary areas of responsibility, the Business and Technology Manager is expected to promote and facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all efforts of the department with university stakeholders.

Student Ambassador

The CLDC student ambassador team is a group of dynamic student leaders that are passionate about educating their peers on career and leadership topics. Student Ambassadors support the CLDC’s mission by facilitating workshops, offering mock interviews, and assisting with CLDC events and special projects.
