The Career & Leadership Development Center is committed to holistic preparation of all Ohio University students and alumni/ae for active development and implementation of career and leadership skills necessary in our global community.
We accomplish this by:
1. Facilitating a process of self-awareness that encourages all students and alumni/ae to engage in career exploration and holistic leadership skill development
2. Helping students and alumni/ae recognize, synthesize, and communicate their experiences
3. Fostering collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and employers to connect students with innovative resources, services and employment opportunities
4. Empowering students to be lifelong learners by providing learning opportunities to construct the following leadership skills; self-awareness, interpersonal development, team development, organizational development and innovation
Through collaboration with energetic colleagues, engagement with thousands of students, and involvement with the development and implementation of innovative services, the CLDC and Ohio University provide diverse opportunities to forward a career in higher education. Last year, over 19,000 students took part in CLDC programs, events, and individual services – and this number grows annually. The CLDC is based within Ohio University’s Division of Student Affairs – named among the Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs in 2015 by American College Personnel Association. Located in Baker University Center at the heart of Ohio University’s main campus, the career center offers beautiful, high quality facilities to students and staff. Going forward, CLDC staff will work toward the vision of a holistic approach to skill development, enriching the lives of individuals by preparing them for a global marketplace and ensuring they are able to fulfill their promise.
