Larry has been a designer in some form or fashion since 1997 when he entered the US Navy as a graphic designer/photographer working on naval publications and internal media projects. He served for ten years in the military and has traveled all over the Middle East and Europe while serving his country and learning skills that have ultimately influenced the rest of his professional life.

While in the military, Larry started his own design firm and has continued to work as a visual media entrepreneur throughout the years. You can see his work with local companies requiring rebranding, website design, training/instructional design, and even still dabbles in photography from time to time.

Having learned the basics of creating media for visual representation, Larry has a strong foundation for creating and designing clean ways of presenting information. This foundation ultimately led to his interest in the instructional design field. While working as a Simulation Specialist, creating simulations for nursing students, Larry cut his teeth on moving courses and redesigning a large online RN to BSN program that had over 5,000 students at the time. After starting this position, he immediately knew that he wanted to pursue a graduate degree in the field of educational technology/instructional design.

Larry has worked on many programs and courses over the years at Ohio University and continues to work with faculty, program directors, and chairs to bring the best practices for online education to students that enroll at Ohio University both online and in the classroom.

He also continues to have a passion for entrepreneurship and has seen success in both business ventures and business coaching. He still does web design to this day and continues his own design firm but has also opened a coffee shop in Pomeroy, Ohio called "River Roasters Coffee Co.". Larry also volunteers as an entrepreneurial leader within his community and works with Rural Action to help develop new entrepreneurs in the surrounding rural communities.
