Event Funding Application Guidelines

  1. Events aligning with the OAA’s Strategic Plan will be given priority. Learn more about the Strategic Plan.
  2. Strong emphasis should be placed on the quality of events, not the quantity.There are no minimum event requirements. 
  3. A minimum of 12 weeks is required to request an event (this includes the two-week approval process).
  4. You will be notified about your application (i.e. funded/not funded) within two weeks/10 business days.
  5. If you are not seeking funding for an event, you may use the Event in a Box form to request supplies supporting your initiative. 
  6. Please be mindful of the cost(s) per person associated with your events.
  7. Please share as much information as you can when requesting OAA funding for an event. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
  8. Events must promote a positive image of Ohio University and the Alumni Association. 
  9. Funds and donations may not be collected at events without prior consent from the OAA. 
  10. Contracts must always be reviewed and signed by university finance.

Examples of Projects Funded by the OAA:

  • Recruitment events with the goal of driving admissions and enrollment
  • Scholarship support events
  • Career networking opportunities
  • Service-related events that support Ohio University

Examples of Projects Suitable for an Event in a Box Form:

  • Social happy hours
  • Tailgates
  • Social events
