Exhibiting our OHIO: Photojournalists capture Athens behind the camera

Six Bobcat photographers, with six different views on Athens and the OHIO experience, created “OHIO Photo Renga” — the Ohio Today cover story. The photo series was inspired by the ancient Japanese linked verse, renga. Each artist’s visual reflection is a reaction to the previous artist’s image that captures their personal connection to place — Ohio University and Athens, Ohio. The images were snapped by OHIO alumni, faculty, and staff, who represent a fraction of notable colleagues from the School of Visual Communication. View them at ohiotoday.org.

OHIO alumni turn virtual gaming into reality

Ohio University alumni Tyler Blust and Anthony Mikicic have three things in common: an interest in storytelling, a love of video games and a lot of “stupid” ideas in their heads. After graduating from the OHIO Scripps College of Communication in 2016, the duo turned one of those ideas into a reality – a virtual reality, that is. They founded the company GuessworkVR. Read about its first virtual reality game, UNDR[H2O] (pronounced "underwater").
