Last call for Homecoming logo design submissions

This fall, Homecoming will celebrate Ohio University for the home it has been to many generations of Bobcats. More than 2,200 online votes were collected from alumni, faculty, staff and students to decide this year’s theme, “All Roads Lead Home.” You are invited to submit your original design for the event logo. The logo will be used throughout Homecoming week on promotional materials. Deliver submissions to heilmeie@ohio.edu or the Konneker Alumni Center on the Athens campus by 4 p.m. on Feb. 19 to be considered. Submissions must be in the form of a full-color 300 dpi .ai, .pdf or .jpeg file. An OHIO gift worth $100 will be awarded for the best design.

“Flat Webster” brings HTC alumni together

From riding on a motorcycle taxi in Cotonou, Benin, to teaching anatomy at Brown University, Dean of the Honors Tutorial College (HTC) Jeremy Webster tagged along with HTC alumni for many adventures and professional endeavors this year — in some form. “Flat Webster,” a cardboard representation of Webster, was the vehicle to announce the formation of the Honors Tutorial College Society of Alumni and Friends to its members. Recalling a popular initiative from the chain-letter days called “Flat Stanley,” HTC society leadership decided to modernize the idea as a way to engage HTC alumni with the new organization. #OHIOlovestories shared for Valentine’s Day

During the week of Valentine’s Day, students and alumni shared their own sentimental and romantic memories on Instagram for a chance to win LOVE products from The Bobcat Store. Stories ranged from tales of meeting spouses and lifelong friends, to favorite Athens restaurants — stories that remained in Bobcats’ hearts long after they left Athens. As Libby Matthews ‘11 said, “My Ohio love story isn’t over, because that love is unconditional and never-ending.” Click here to view the gallery of submissions on our Facebook page.
