Consultant chosen for Ridges Master Plan project
The Ridges Master Plan Committee has announced the selection of Schooley Caldwell Associates, a Columbus-based architectural and engineering firm, to aid the team of Ohio University employees and Athens-area community members in crafting an updated master plan for The Ridges.
New Bobcats take first steps in OHIO journey at BSO
In anticipation of the Class of 2018's arrival, the Ohio University community has rolled out the welcome mat for this year's Bobcat Student Orientation (BSO). BSO kicked off on June 4 and continued through June 26, bringing more than 4,000 new Bobcats and more than 5,600 parents and guests to the Athens Campus.
OHIO faculty play lead role in public records audit
Several E.W. Scripps School of Journalism faculty played key roles in a statewide public records audit conducted by the Ohio Coalition for Open Government. The audit followed a similar study conducted by the group a decade ago to determine whether governmental offices throughout the state were complying with Ohio's public record laws.
Food boxes powered by OHIO volunteers
This year's International Education Week celebration will include a competition that will award the winning team an overseas trip to participate in a global health experience. Members of the winning team will be awarded sponsored travel to implement their solution in collaboration with students and partners from the host country.

The Alumni Varsity Band invites alumni to "Stand Up and Cheer" during the BBQ on the College Green on Saturday, May 30. More than 425 alumni and friends participated in a variety of events offered by the Ohio University Alumni Association during the University's inaugural "On the Green Weekend," May 29 through June 1. Join us this fall for a Bobcat Bash
Fall football season will be here soon! Join your fellow Bobcats at the season opener against Kent State in Stow on Aug. 30. You won't want to miss out on Sept. 6 game and Bash against the University of Kentucky in Lexington, either.
The Ohio University Alumni Association will also host, in collaboration with OHIO Bobcat Club, a Bobcat Bash for the Marshall University game in Huntington, W.Va., on Sept. 13.

The Ebony Bobcat Network will host its annual Alumni Weekend during the weekend of August 14-16 at the Hilton Garden Inn & Conference Center in Mayfield Village, Ohio, outside Cleveland. The deadline for Early Bird Registration is July 15. Attendees can look forward to a number of fun events including: Soulful Bobcats: Book Discussion & Wine Sip, Conversations With Your Decade Friends, Sip 'N' Soul Dance, Alumni Breakfast Meeting and finally, the Scholarship Gala with Hilton Smith, President of the NAACP Cleveland Chapter, as keynote speaker.

Outstanding alumni chapters and societies recognized
The Alumni Leaders' Conference Awards Ceremony is a special celebration recognizing the outstanding work of our many chapter and society volunteers across the country and around the globe. The winners of the Alumni Networking Award were the Charlotte, NC Chapter and the Athletic Trainers' Society. The Alumni and Student Networking Award was given to the ACRN Society of Alumni and Friends. The Metro New York Chapter and the Schey Sales Center Society of Alumni and Friends were recognized with the Community Service Award. The most Innovative Programming Award was given to the Chicago Chapter.
The Philanthropic Award winners were the Massachusetts Chapter Serving New England and the OHIO Hockey Society of Alumni and Friends. Finally, the Outstanding Chapter and Society Award winners were the Ohio University Women's Club of Greater Cleveland and the Ebony Bobcat Network. Click here to read more.
Successful caravan events engage alumni and OHIO Athletics
This spring, the Ohio Bobcat Club again partnered with the Ohio University Alumni Association to offer face to face opportunities for alumni to engage OHIO coaches, staff, and other special guests. Football head coach Frank Solich provided OHIO alumni and friends with a preview of the upcoming 2014 Football Season.
Our new men's basketball head coach, Saul Phillips, introduced himself to OHIO alumni and friends at each Caravan stop and generated excitement for the upcoming 2014-15 basketball season. Jennifer Neubauer, Executive Director of the Ohio University Alumni Association, updated attendees on all of the great programming and services offered by the Ohio University Alumni Association.
Each Caravan offered its own unique touch while guests enjoyed great food, beverages, fun giveaways, raffles, photo opportunities and tons of OHIO fun!
OUAA welcomes five new Board members
The Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA) is pleased to announce the selection of five new Board members. Carolyn "Bitsy" Merriman Melton, BFA '77; James Thomas Daniel, BSEd '68, MSEd '72; Joseph Antenucci Becherer, BFA '87, MFA '89; Kenneth Ray Rusche, BSEd '73; and Robert "Rocky" Nile Mansfield Jr., BS '74, began their terms July 1, 2014. The OUAA Board of Directors comprises 26 OHIO alumni and serves to connect the university and its alumni.
