SAB Survival Kits will be back in the Spring!
The Student Alumni Board (SAB) sold and delivered 95 Finals Week Survival Bags to OHIO students during finals week. Survival bags were sold through the online Bobcat Store with proceeds supporting SAB initiatives. To stay informed about new products, sign up for the Bobcat Store email.

Ohio Football picked up its second straight bowl win on Friday, Dec 28, earning a dominating 45-14 victory over the University of Louisiana-Monroe in the 2012 AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl. One hundred and fourty-four alumni, fans and friends attended the Ohio Alumni Association's pre-game Bobcat Bash at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum and then were treated to a record-breaking game by the Bobcats. Attend the Washington Policy Forum
For alumni in the DC region, the Washington Policy Forum provides a venue to engage in thoughtful policy discussions, to network with fellow Bobcats, and to stay more connected to current Ohio University news, research, and projects. Join fellow alumni for this engaging discussion and reception on Jan. 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Capitol Visitors Center. Our panelists will discuss “The First 100 Days of the Next Congress and Administration.”

Featured alumni panelists include:

Ken Kies ’74, managing director, Federal Policy Group; Cory Fritz ’08, communications director, Office of Speaker Boehner; Don May ’92, managing director, Farragut Square Group; Drew Fields ’89, partner, Mercury Strategies; Randy Wynn ’73, deputy executive editor, CQ.

Host an OHIO dinner party
The idea is simple: Attend a dinner with students, faculty, and alumni to share a good meal, good conversation and a good time.

OHIO alumni in the Southeast Ohio region will host a "Dinner With 12 Strangers" at their homes or at a local restaurant, Jan. 27, Feb. 23, March 24 and April 15. The goal is to strengthen the Ohio University community by connecting current students with Bobcat alumni. Faculty members will also attend to help facilitate conversation and contribute any experiences from their professions. The dinners can range from being casual and eating pizza to having a large formal dinner. Come to "Dinner With 12 Strangers" and leave with 11 new friends!

OUAA welcomes new executive director

Jennifer Lewis Neubauer Jennifer Lewis Neubauer of Pittsburgh, Penn., has been named assistant vice president of alumni relations and executive director of the Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA).

Neubauer, who recently served as a director for the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), is the first woman to lead the OUAA in its more than 150-year history. She brings with her nearly 30 years of higher education experience in alumni relations, fundraising, marketing and public relations.

"Jennifer has an exciting background that combines expertise in alumni programming, marketing, and engagement with proven strategic planning and leadership skills," said J. Bryan Benchoff, vice president for university advancement and president and CEO of The Ohio University Foundation.

Neubauer is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where she began her career in university advancement. Her experience in alumni relations includes serving as director of alumni relations at Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, Mich.; director of planning for the Indiana University Alumni Association; executive director of the Georgia State University Alumni Association; and assistant vice president for alumni relations at Carnegie Mellon University.

"I am so pleased and proud to have been selected assistant vice president for Alumni Relations at Ohio University,” said Neubauer. "I have long admired the quality of programming and leadership associated with the alumni program at OU. Following in the footsteps of the profession’s leading practitioners is something I view as both a privilege and responsibility. I look forward to working with the leadership of the University and the Alumni Association to build upon the program's foundation of excellence and innovation."
