UCM director invites alumni to share memories of volunteering at OHIO
United Campus Ministry (UCM) and its Alumni Society are looking to reconnect with alumni who helped spread the appeal of volunteering and participating in service trips while enrolled at Ohio University.
Melissa Wales obtained her M.A. in International Studies and Women's Studies from Ohio University and has been working at UCM since 1999. Along with serving as part-time faculty for the OU Women's and Gender Studies Program, Wales has served as the UCM Executive Director since 2004. Wales is spearheading the movement to reunite the vast network of UCM Alumni who have served as volunteers and participants over the years.
UCM has continued to help OU stay nationally recognized for interfaith campus organizing with successful events like the Better Together campaign. This campaign attempts to bridge the gap between faith and non-faith traditions via working on local food security and our environment. Wales has successfully lead and held two fundraising events for UCM this year, including UCM's 31st Annual Auction Fundraiser along with the enormously successful October dinner event held at 9 Tables Restaurant.
For more information on UCM volunteering or participating, visit ucmathens.org and facebook.com/ucmathens or contact Kellea Tibbs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
