Archaeological Field School students uncovering prehistoric artifacts
Ten Ohio University students are spending the summer unearthing prehistoric artifacts – more than 1,000 years old – and analyzing their finds through the Ohio University Archaeological Field School.
The largest-ever alumni event outside of Athens brought a little OHIO to Cleveland.
More than 450 Ohio University alumni and friends gathered at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center on July 18th for a special alumni event in conjunction with the annual summer meeting of The Ohio University Foundation Board of Trustees. This wasn’t just any event in a hotel ballroom. Themed “A Night in Athens … in Cleveland,” the OUAA took the opportunity to recreate the OHIO and Athens experience 215 miles from College Green. OHIO Federal Government Alumni Luncheon
On Sept. 12, OHIO President Roderick McDavis on behalf of the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs will host an alumni luncheon in Washington, DC to honor alumni involved in public service to the nation. The luncheon will be held at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars from noon – 2 p.m. Last year’s inaugural luncheon was filled to capacity, so RSVP early to reserve your seat at this special event. This year’s weeklong Homecoming celebration is scheduled for Oct. 7-13, with special alumni-related events planned throughout the weekend (Oct. 11-13). Join your fellow Bobcats at Friday night’s “Yell Like Hell” pep rally, the Alumni Awards Gala or Historical Hayrides at The Ridges. Saturday events include an Alumni Coffee Hour before the annual parade, a pre-game Bobcat Bash immediately following the parade, OHIO vs Central Michigan University at Peden Stadium, and even a Star Gazing event at The Ridges. Class of 1963!
During this year’s Homecoming weekend (Oct. 11-13), OUAA will honor OHIO’s Golden Bobcat Class with a host of events planned to commemorate this special milestone. On Sat., Oct. 12, Golden graduates can register to ride in a special vehicle in the parade, participate in the Bobcat Bash, be recognized at the game and join other 1963 alumni during a post-game reception.
