Campus reduces electric usage during June 23 test
Ohio University has successfully demonstrated that it can reduce its electric usage to help combat the increasing cost of utilities. The campus participated in a Demand Response Test on Thursday, June 23 during which it initiated controlled shutdowns of air handlers, chillers and other equipment in various areas of the campus. OHIO was able to reduce electrical usage by 6.6 percent for one hour of the test, during which Facilities received no calls regarding problems from the areas affected by the shutdowns. According to Executive Director of Facilities Management Mike Gebeke, the purpose of the test was to demonstrate OHIO's ability to decrease its electrical usage by 4 megawatts to be eligible for the maximum payment to the central utility account.

Spotlight on volunteers

Leaders' Advisory Council 2011
The Chapter and Society Leaders Advisory Council was developed by the Alumni Association in the fall of 2005. The Council is comprised of five chapter and five society leaders whose purpose is to give the Alumni Association feedback on operations and potential changes. The council's membership is rotated to different chapters and societies, with the exception of a few key chapters that represent the majority of our alumni. The Leaders Advisory Council aims to advance the mission of the Ohio University Alumni Association by fostering communication between alumni networks and the association, and by promoting best practices among current and emerging alumni networks. For more information, visit ohioalumni.org/leaders-advisory-council or contact Dawn Werry, Associate Director, Regional Programs at werryd@ohio.edu.
