Sign up for OHIO!

The Ohio University Alumni Association provides two simple programs you can use to make a big difference in the life of an OHIO student: Our Bobcat Mentor Network program is just the ticket for alumni who enjoy working one-on-one with current OHIO students or recent graduates. Or, if you are politically inclined, our Advocacy program gives you the tools to aid Ohio University at the legislative level. However you help, Ohio University needs your support more than ever as we look to the New Year.

Spotlight on our volunteers

Volunteers who contribute their time and energy are essential to the Alumni Association, and to Ohio University. Just a few of the outstanding OUAA volunteers we'd like to thank include:

- Julie Righter photoJulie Righter, '78, retires as the Central Ohio Chapter president on Dec. 31. As the president of the largest constituency of alumni and a Leaders Advisory Council member, Julie organized a highly successful OHIO vs. OSU Pre-Game Jam this past autumn. In the last several months, she established a succession plan and model for the Central Ohio Chapter to pave the way for the incoming president, Dustin Starkey, '98. Thank you for your work, Julie!

- Robert Walter, '90, '92, is the president of the Nation's Robert Walter photoCapital Chapter, a former Leaders Advisory Council member and a VAAN volunteer. Robert's passion and involvement led to the organization of 66 chapter events last year! A model for leadership, his collaboration with other volunteers, alumni, colleges and constituent groups resulted in numerous awards for the chapter, including the presentation of the 2007-2008 Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award.

- Patrick McAleer, '99, is the Indiana Chapter president Patrick McAleerand a Leaders Advisory Council member.  Patrick's time and dedication led to a transformation of the chapter. Through successful event planning and a formation of leadership committees, his work as a volunteer builds a stronger Ohio University presence in his region.
