Message from the Dean | Thank you to alumni who networked with students

Welcome to the spring issue of Engage! Thank you to all the Arts & Sciences alumni who traveled to Athens to participate in our first-ever College of Arts & Sciences Career and Networking Week. We are eager to provide these types of experiences to current Bobcats. More.

Can you help? Want to get involved?

The Bobcat alumni network is incredibly productive in giving OHIO students a great start on successful career paths. If you could benefit from access to Bobcat career services, or if you know of internship opportunities or want to help your department support students, there are many ways to get involved, both in Athens and from afar. If you’re interested in connecting with the department, educational enrichment, networking, or coming to campus, contact Lisa Cohen.

Confirmed breweries to date include: Jackie Os (uptown brewpub and Eastside production brewery). No prior brewing experience is required, though college-level courses in biology and/or chemistry will help. Hotel rooms will be made available at the OU Inn. The cost of the short course is currently estimated to be $1,500 (if registered by April 30) and $1,800 (after April 30) with a $500 deposit due at registration. Costs cover instruction and beer tastings/tours at each of the local breweries. Final payments are due by July 10. The registration deadline is June 16. Seating is limited. About 15 percent of Americans live in rural counties. While rural America offers many opportunities, it also faces unique and difficult challenges in sustaining its economic base and providing quality healthcare and other social services. The Rural America Week brought the Ohio University community together to discuss core issues in rural America and look for ways to strengthen it.
