Black Alumni Reunion
Sept. 15-18, 2016
Black Alumni Reunion (BAR) is a signature alumni weekend that takes place on the Athens Campus every three years. The weekend features an engaging mix of casual and formal events – from networking and learning opportunities to entertaining and festive occasions. All programming is designed to welcome the University’s black alumni and to celebrate their ties to OHIO.
More than 350 of you voted and, thanks to your input, this fall’s Black Alumni Reunion theme is "Straight Outta OHIO"! Taking you back to where it all began, the BAR tradition has more than three decades of history and draws more than 500 alumni and friends to Athens every three years.

The Black Alumni Reunion Planning Committee is working with the Association to plan a reunion that will welcome hundreds of alumni to Athens. Volunteer members are: Connie Lawson Davis (BSEd ’67); Ann Wagner Hill (BSEd ’68); Brenda Dancil Jones (AB ’70); Cynthia Calhoun (BSEE ’88); Terry Frazier (AS ’88, BSS ’93); Dell Robinson (BSPE ’88); Kelly Davidson (AB ’92); Aaron Thomas (BSC ’01); Ashley Ferguson (BSJ ’06); Jillian Causey (BSH ’13); and Lynnette Henderson (BSS ’13).
Your OHIO Alumni Association is not blocking any hotel room blocks for Black Alumni Reunion. Accomodations will NOT be a part of the registration package. BAR attendees are encouraged to book rooms early on their own. A variety of activities and events - many of which have nothing to do with OHIO - bring people to the Athens and Hocking Valley area each weekend. Hotels do tend to fill up fast.
