Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs

Named in honor of Senator George V. Voinovich, '68, OHIO's School of Leadership and Public Affairs has a reputation as a catalyst for finding effective solutions to some of the nation's biggest challenges — sustainable energy, a cleaner environment, job creation, innovative policy solutions and a stronger economy.

While many academic and public policy institutions serve as think tanks, the Voinovich School is a "do tank." We get our students and faculty members out of the classroom and into the world to solve real problems. They innovate across disciplines and industries. They're not just pondering problems and challenges as they arise—they're leading the way with action in the form of inventive teaching, applied research, and public and private partnerships that make a difference.

Your Support

To ensure a strong future, the state of Ohio and the nation must invest in cost-effective clean energy technologies that can create new jobs. They must help corporations and government agencies meet federal mandates for clean water and air, ensure a strong return on investment from our K-12 system, and guarantee that the leaders of our government agencies and non-profit organizations can manage change in a fast-paced world. The Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs is the only entity in the state of Ohio with the expertise and infrastructure in place to achieve all of these goals. But we can't do it without you.

With your support, we will stand with OHIO in its quest to become one of the most important universities in nation. We will help the University achieve that goal by capitalizing on our strengths: expanding student access and opportunity, inspiring research, promoting economic development, cultivating the academic experience and strengthening our outreach and partnerships.

Because we believe you should be able to support what matters most to you, you can designate your gift to any area you desire. We have several exciting current opportunities that will benefit from your generosity to contribute to a strong future:

  • Janet and George Voinovich Faculty and Staff Leadership Award — This award will be given every year for outstanding leadership contributions by an individual or team working for and/or with the Voinovich School.
  • Named endowed chair encouraging faculty excellence and sparking innovation in teaching, research and scholarship. An endowed chair will allow the School to attract and retain eminent faculty in particular areas of importance to generate impact.
  • The Voinovich School expands student access and opportunity to innovate, inspires opportunities for applied research and strengthens outreach and partnerships. Please consider providing support in any of our three programmatic areas of energy and environment, entrepreneurship and social innovation to help our faculty, students and the world by promoting collective impact for generations to come.

Private giving has always had a significant impact on the Voinovich School. From embarking to clean up more than 1,300 miles of Ohio streams impacted by Acid Mine Drainage through a $250,000 gift from AEP, to internships that connect OHIO students with the largest economic development association in the world, the generous support of you - our friends and donors — makes a significant impact in our region, our state and the world.

Your gift — no matter the amount — makes a huge difference.
