Ohio University

Eastern Campus

Founded in 1957, the Ohio University Eastern Campus has been serving the Ohio Valley for more than 55 years. Located in St. Clairsville, the Eastern Campus offers 12 bachelor's degree programs and access to the first two years of any of OHIO's 250 degree programs. With an average class size of 15 students, an average tuition rate of $5,000 per year and six intercollegiate sports, the Eastern Campus offers the benefits and education of a premiere research university while maintaining the personal attention associated with a smaller, exclusive college.

Ohio University Eastern is a critical gateway to education for residents of the Ohio River Valley and over the past several years we have seen our enrollments rise. We serve an average of 1,000 undergraduate students each year, and in the past ten years more than 900 students have received bachelor's degrees from Ohio University Eastern.

Your Support

To ensure a strong future, we must invest in our students. Well-trained workers and leaders are the key to a brighter future in our region and in Ohio. In 2011, the Eastern Campus awarded more than $1.6 million in scholarships, grants and work-study opportunities, but that is not nearly enough to sustain our growing enrollments. With dwindling state support and the economy at a turning point, now is the time to expand our initiatives and drive the economic engine in our area.

With your support, we seek to expand student access and opportunity, cultivate the academic experience, and strengthen community outreach and partnerships.

We believe that you should support what matters most to you, so you can designate your gift to any area you choose. We have some exciting current initiatives that will benefit from your generosity:

  • Given the downward trend of national and state funding for education, the Eastern Campus depends on private support to keep students' dreams of a higher education within reach. With your help, we seek to increase the amount of scholarship aid we can offer. Together, we can strive to award scholarships to every deserving student.
  • Growing enrollments and increased community needs are driving the call for expanded academic resources and upgraded technological facilities. Facilities play a critical role not only in establishing the conditions for discovery and creative activity, but also encouraging the collaboration and interdisciplinary activities that are integral to our success. Ohio University's Eastern Campus is a unique resource for our region and a point of pride in Belmont County; however, we can retain our distinguished status only if we can maintain and upgrade to keep pace.
  • Our strength lives in regional collaboration and outreach. Since its inception in 1804, Ohio University has been driven by concern for communal wellbeing. With a history of responding to public need as our foundation, we continue to embrace the pledge we've made to our neighbors by expanding partnerships that inspire communities in the region.

This is your chance to stand with the Ohio University Eastern Campus and make a significant difference in our region and our state. The outcomes will be dramatic. Partners, like you, will undoubtedly be recognized as visionaries who collaborated with us to face the challenges of the next century.

Your gift -- no matter the amount -- makes a difference.
