The Multicultural Visit Program (MVP) is an overnight visit to Ohio University's Athens Campus for specially selected college-bound students who are juniors and seniors in high school. You will get a chance to meet faculty, administrators and students, discuss your academic goals, meet potential future classmates, and acquaint yourself with Ohio University and campus life. This all-expense paid program includes lodging, transportation, and meals for participating students. 

Requirements for Consideration

MVP is a selective program. Applicants should meet the minimum requirements and submit all required documents. Applicants who are seniors with at least a 3.0 cumulative g.p.a. (unweighted) AND a 20 ACT composite score or comparable SAT score will be considered. Juniors will be considered after seniors on a space-available basis. Senior attendees are encouraged to complete an application for admission to Ohio University before attending MVP.

9:00 p.m.-10:45 p.m. - Variety Show hosted by O.U.R.S.
11:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. - Shuttles to Ohio University Inn from Variety Show
11:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. - Evening Snacks and Game Night with O.U.R.S.

11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. - Office for Multicultural Student Access and Retention (OMSAR) Workshop
12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. - Lunch at Baker University Center including Q&A with Undergraduate Admissions and Campus Resources 
1:00 p.m. - Bus departures 

Before You Arrive

Students selected to attend MVP are required to submit the Parent/Guardian Release and Program Guidelines form by  October 16, 2017.  School counselors may assist in submitting forms for students by the deadline by e-mail at admissions@ohio.edu or by fax at 740.593.0560. Lodging and Transportation

Transportation to and from Ohio University, all meals, and lodging at the Ohio University Inn and Conference Center will be provided for all MVP participants. Pick-up locations and times are established in participating regions and communicated to selected participants. 

All selected participants are required to ride the provided transportion to and from the program. 

Prior to arriving to campus, participants will have the option to select a roommate and inform Undergraduate Admissions of selections on the shuttle ride to Athens. If participants do not select a roommate, Undergraduate Admission will assign another participant of the same sex for you.
