Merit scholarships are available in limited quantity for transfer students enrolling in the fall term at the Athens campus. These awards are competitive and provide from $1,000 to $3,000 toward tuition expenses. Some of these awards are one-time, and others are renewable for up to a total of four semesters. Awards are available to students who begin their studies in the fall semester.
To be eligible for merit scholarship consideration, please note the following requirements:
Award notification letters are mailed in mid-June. Even if you do not receive a scholarship in your first year of study, you may be eligible to apply for upper-class merit scholarships once you have completed one year of credit at Ohio University. Consideration for those scholarships would be based on your performance at Ohio University.
Named in honor of former Ohio University employee David Axsom, the Axsom Transfer Scholarship is awarded to transfer students who demonstrate strong academic achievement at their previous institution(s).
The community college partnership is awarded to high achieving students transferring from one of Ohio University's officially recognized partner community colleges.
Each year, Ohio University awards one $3,000 merit based scholarship to a Phi Theta Kappa member. To be considered for the award, Undergraduate Admissions must be notified by May 15 of the student's interest with documentation of their membership in PTK.

The Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA) offers a limited number of scholarships for children of alumni; information can be found on the OUAA website.
