Integrated Healthcare Studies
Ohio University's Bachelor of Science in Integrated Healthcare Studies (IHS), offered by the College of Health Sciences and Professions, is an online program designed for associate's degree graduates who want to further their education and advance their careers. The program responds to the need of an increasingly complex state of the American healthcare system by providing opportunities for students to acquire vital knowledge and skills that will be critical in practicing and navigating the healthcare system. Not only is the healthcare system becoming more complex, healthcare professions and healthcare support will be among the fastest growing occupations, requiring high levels of post-secondary education. The program will provide you with skills in leadership, critical thinking, communication, advocacy, and evidence-based practice principles to prepare you for the global healthcare market.
- A conferred associate's degree in a health-related field or 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited community college, regional campus, technical college, or university
- Completed coursework in mathematics; English composition; biological sciences; and psychology, sociology or social work
- At least nine semester hours in additional courses with a health or medical focus, such as medical terminology courses in subject areas of biological sciences, health technology, medical technology, and health technology
- Combined grade-point average (GPA) of 2.67 or higher
