Resources for Online Students
Even though online and distance students are not on a campus, Ohio University provides equal or similar services to these students. Read through the information below or click on a link to learn more about the resources available to you.
Online students may be exposed to new technologies they have never used before. Before getting started at Ohio University, you will need to activate your OHIO ID, which will give you access to many University services.
Blackboard is Ohio University's learning management system. When taking an online course, a student will use Blackboard to access the course syllabus, participate in discussion boards, or, at times, take course quizzes and examinations.
CatMail is Ohio University's student email client. All important University communications will be sent to your CatMail account.
The Bobcat Depot is your official source for textbooks, computers and software, or gifts and apparel.
Learning Support Services
Online and distance students have access to Ohio University libraries, the Academic Advancement Center, the Allen Student Advising Center, and Blackboard support.
After you are admitted, you will be assigned an advisor who will work with you to create educational plans to achieve your academic, career, and personal goals. Your advisor will recommend courses you should take in order to graduate on schedule, and he or she will be your personal connection to Ohio University.
OHIO Testing Services
You may be required to have a proctor for an examination. A proctor will verify that exams are administered under the proper conditions.
eCampus Success Center
The eCampus Success Center is available when you need assistance with matters related to your education.
