For School Counselors

Ohio University Undergraduate Admissions values the role that secondary-school counselors play in the college search and admission processes. Our goal is to be as helpful to you and your students as possible.

Our website is designed to make it easier for you and your students to find the tools and information you need. Below are some quick-links to some of the most commonly accessed sections of our website:

Testing Requirements
We accept either ACT or SAT results. Students who take the ACT are strongly encouraged to take the optional writing portion of the test. Freshmen should take either test by January 1 and should have results sent directly from the testing agency.

ACT: 3314
SAT: 1593
FAFSA: 003100

Fall Application Dates
The priority application filing date for most programs is February 1. For those programs, all credentials must be received by March 1. Note that the Honors Tutorial College has an application priority date of December 1.

An official copy of the student's high school transcript must be sent directly from the high school guidance office to Undergraduate Admissions, Chubb Hall 120, 1 Ohio University, Athens OH 45701. Undergraduate Admissions also has the capability to accept many electronic transcripts. For a complete list of accepted electronic formats, please call 740.593.4100. Undergraduate Admissions also reserves the right to request first term or first semester grades from a student's senior year in order to make a more informed admission decision. Final transcripts are required post-high school graduation to finalize admission.

Optional Application Materials
Students may submit optional application materials, including letters of recommendation, an essay, or a statement of extra-curricular activities.

Honors Tutorial College Applicants
Note that applicants to the Honors Tutorial College must submit the Honors Tutorial Application Supplement, which is included in the application form. The application priority date is December 1. For more information on applying to the Honors Tutorial College, visit the HTC website.
