The Required Pre-enrollment Discipline and Criminal History Review form is available in your MyOHIO Student Center and should be completed immediately. Disclosing a formal disciplinary action, charge, or conviction does not automatically disqualify you from enrollment, but your disclosures will be reviewed. Based on your answers, we may contact you to request further information. The form must be completed, reviewed and cleared for enrollment before you can register for classes.

Complete the Online Orientation

To ease your transition into online learning at OHIO, you are required to complete an online orientation module. To access the orientation module, you will need to log in using your OHIO ID and first and last name. It should take approximately one hour to complete the orientation module.

A hold will be placed on your student account until you complete the online orientation. After the hold is removed, you can register for classes.

Note: On the orientation sign-in page, enter your information and select “Enter.” Do NOT select the option to “Enter as Guest,” as we will have no record that you completed the orientation, and you will have to retake it.

Transfer Your Credits

Talk With Your Academic Advisor

When transfer credit has been applied to your student record and an updated Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) report is available, your advisor will reach out to you via your Ohio University email address (which is the same as your OHIO ID) where you will review personalized program information. (The DARS is available after you are admitted to the University and your transfer credit has been fully evaluated.) Advising is required before you register for courses. Your advisor will send you a list of courses you might want to take during your first term.

Register for Classes

The OHIO Online academic advisors created videos to explain how to find your courses using the University’s Course Offerings page and how to register for classes in your MyOHIO Student Center. If you have any questions after viewing this information, please contact your academic advisor.

Please note: You may enroll in any OHIO course for which you meet the requisites, including those available to students at the Athens and regional campuses. However, you will pay the Athens campus or regional campus tuition for these courses, not the eCampus tuition rate. You will not be eligible for a tuition appeal if you accidentally register for courses that are listed on the regular course offerings page.

Familiarize Yourself With Blackboard

You will use Blackboard, Ohio University's web-based learning management system, to access your courses. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with syllabi, course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, online quizzes, an academic resource center, and more. You will not have access to Blackboard until you are enrolled in an active course. The professor might not make the course active until the first day of class.
