IT Accessibility Resources
Access to information by all members of its community is integral to the mission of Ohio University as an institution of higher education. Consideration must be given to the universal design of university web resources to ensure that all members of our community, including individuals with disabilities, have reasonable access to this information. For web resources that cannot be made accessible, alternative methods for people to obtain the information such as a phone number, email address or an office location will be provided.
These guidelines are based on Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended) and the Web Access Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium. These standards are in keeping with the spirit of the current legislation such as the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (as amended), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and Section 255 of the Telecom Act.
