What’s the best way to get involved on campus?

The campus involvement fair happens the day before classes start in the fall. Most student organizations have representatives at the fair. Check out the Campus Involvement Center at Baker University Center or at www.ohio.edu/involvement.

Do you have a list of student organizations?

You can see a list of student organizations at www.ohio.edu/involvement.

Can I get involved in student government?

Yes. Student Senate represents OHIO students to the Ohio University administration as well as to the state of Ohio. Initiatives include academic affairs, student life, community service, student activities funding, and more. You don't even have to be an elected member of Student Senate to get involved. Learn more at www.ohio.edu/orgs/senate/whatwedo.cfm.

Do I have to pay to get into varsity athletic events?

No. Your student ID gives you free access to OHIO Bobcats football, basketball, volleyball, and all other home varsity events.

What club and intramural sports do you have?

We have 32 club sports teams. Find a list at www.ohio.edu/recreation/club. Find a list of team intramural sports at www.ohio.edu/recreation/intramural.

Do you have an ROTC program?

We have Air Force ROTC (www.ohio.edu/afrotc) and Army ROTC (www.ohio.edu/armyrotc).

How do I find an internship?

Many programs at OHIO help you find on-campus and off-campus internships, in Athens and beyond. Talk to your advisor, department chair, or academic college internship coordinator to learn more.

How do I get involved in community service?

On campus and in Athens, both students and permanent residents contribute to a progressive, socially active community. To learn more about community service, community-based organizations, and community work study, go to www.ohio.edu/involvement/communityservice.

What is Athens like?

Athens is a classic college town of some 24,000 residents in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The pedestrian-friendly city is home to tree-lined brick streets and stately Georgian architecture. Athens has thriving art, music, local food, and outdoor recreation scenes.
