New Website Request Information
PLEASE NOTE: If your student organization already has a web site, please fill in a work request by going to http://www.ohio.edu/oitech/ and clicking on "New Request" or by calling the Service Desk at 740.593.1222.
These are the initial steps for getting a new web site for your organization:
- Fill in the form on this page (http://www.ohio.edu/web/organizations/new-website-request-form.cfm).
- The Student Organization will be verified through Campus Involvement Center.
- After verification, you will be contacted by a member of the web services team with further instructions
For clarification, there are two options for new student organization web pages. They are:
Common Spot
The primary advantage of this server is that you will use a template-based content management system to update your pages, which will make it easier for your successor to maintain the site. You can learn more about using CommonSpot for these subsites by starting at http://www.ohio.edu/orgs/
Static Server
The primary advantage of this server is that you can use whatever HTML constructs you directly write or the software you use to prepare the pages creates on your behalf. You can learn more about using the Static-Page Front Door server by starting at http://www.ohio.edu/oit/webservices/static/.
