Sara Boyd, senior project manager and co-director of the Honors Tutorial College/Voinovich Scholars program, announced her retirement on Friday, Feb. 1. Boyd has worked with the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs for 17 years and completed over 192 projects.

During her career, she has worked with the Ohio University College of Medicine, the Innovation Center, the Small Business Development Center, the Environmental Protection Agency, and many federally qualified health centers. Boyd managed many projects and teams focused on health, human services and economic development. These projects provided research, planning and evaluation services to nonprofit, public and private organizations.

“Sara has made a huge contribution on improving the region through project-based work,” says Mark Weinberg, director of the Voinovich School. “She is one of the hardest working, most dedicated people I know. She is irreplaceable.”

Boyd holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Boston University and a master’s degree in health administration from Duke University. Her expertise lies in survey design and deployment.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to serve Appalachian Ohio,” says Boyd. “It’s been a great, fun and really wonderful 17 years.”
