Since January of 2007, Consolidus of Akron, Ohio has worked to offer a streamlined, Internet-based solution for organizations purchasing promotional merchandise. In August, Consolidus sought the assistance of the Ohio Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at Ohio University's Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs. PTAC provides Ohio businesses assistance in selling goods to local, state, and federal government, as well as helping them become competitive and maximize their partnerships.

To enhance their partnership, PTAC relocated their Akron office to the Akron Global Business Accelerator, where Consolidus and many other businesses are located. Director of Client Services Aubrey Cocklin states, "When Rich moved into our building we were better able to utilize PTAC services and have since been working with him more closely and with great success."

Cocklin explains that they first sought the PTAC's assistance in ensuring that they were compliant in government contracts and have since grown to using their assistance for additional opportunities. PTAC was able to offer them assistance with notices and System for Award Management (SAM) registration, which lead to their first award in September with Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS). They were also able to help the company form an active role in the higher education market in Ohio.

Consolidus is a contractor with the Department of Defense and runs stores for Air Force and Army ROTC nationwide, providing branded promotional items, print materials, and apparel. Cocklin states, "This can get very tricky, and Rich was wonderful in helping explain the ins and outs of the complexities of government bidding. He helped us get all of our paperwork in place and current, and also pointed us in the direction of new places to look for government bidding."

Consolidus also has contracts with many universities including the University of Akron, John Carroll University, and the Inter-University Council of Ohio (IUC), which represents Ohio's 13 public universities. Cocklin states, "Because he works with procurement in universities, Rich was also able to help put me in touch with Youngstown State, and I have since formed a partnership with them to do their promotional materials." The company also has partnerships with industry specific stores such as Microbrew Marketing, as well as the LeBron James Family Foundation.

Consolidus is working on furthering their partnership with the IUC, and with the help of Delisio has now fully integrated with SciQuest, a company that works to help supplier organizations. Cocklin states, "Rich is a great source of information for us. We are lucky to have such a great partner and friend." She adds, "He's been a great resource and is always looking out for new opportunities for us."
