Vision Ohio: Fundamental Principles Guiding Our Mission | Since November 2004 — when Ohio University began its strategic planning process — hundreds of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members have helped the institution define its aspirations for the next decade. Many of these goals reach back to the university’s founding mission, and they are recorded in the current version of its academic plan known as Vision OHIO (download the current version and appendix at far right).
The current focus of the strategic planning process is implementation of initiatives that will help meet goals described in the plan. With input from the university and community, Provost Kathy Krendl announced in September that the first phase of implementation will emphasize three key areas: undergraduate education, graduate education and research, and faculty.
