Vision Ohio - Review and Revision

As a means of helping to determine key strategic priorities in light of a changing university environment, the Vision Ohio Steering Committee (VOSC) has been asked to seek constituent and community input to help determine areas of focus for strategic planning. 

VOSC was also asked to continue work that has begun on a new vision statement.  The original Vision Ohio plan included a vision statement, but as with our strategic priorities there is a need for greater focus in how we articulate the primary characteristic of the university’s approach to education. 

The following set of documents was provided by the Office of Executive Vice President and Provost for VOSC’s use.  You are encouraged to review them as well in formulating your feedback.

1.  Five Year Vision Ohio Implementation Plan Draft Discussion Chart.

This document represents an attempt on the part of Deans and members of the Executive Staff to select areas of strategic focus.  The second column represents what members of the two groups viewed as being primary, near-term priorities.  The other priorities listed to the right are not arranged in rank order.

2.  Board of Trustee’s Strategic Planning Exercise

The Ohio University Board of Trustees worked on creating a set of strategic priorities at their August retreat.  The document reflects their discussions and attempts to align them with those outlined in the first document.

3.  Proposed Strategic Vision Statements

The document contains some proposed strategic vision statements.  The Board of Trustees contributed the last statement.

4.  “This is Vision Ohio”

This document captures some of the progress made in “Year One” of the Five Year Vision Ohio Implementation Plan and reflects some of the impact of FY 2010 budget decisions.

5.  Student Success Network Chart

The Student Success Network is referred to in the first document.  The chart details the membership of the network.
