The academic planning process is one that involves continued input from a broad range of university and community members. These events represent university and communitywide gatherings for discussion about Vision OHIO. Read more about the present, past and future of the strategic planning process on Outlook.

Public forums, focusing on guiding principles — (Athens campus: March 3, 2005; Lancaster campus: March 11, 2005; Athens community: April 19, 2005) The 46-person Presidential Task Force on the Future of Ohio University drafted vision and mission statements, as well as a set of core values and guiding principles. The group asked for feedback at these meetings.
Public forums, focusing on the document — (June 29, July 13 and 27, and Aug. 17 and 31, 2005) Attended by university and community members to continue to gather information and give feedback about the draft of the academic plan.
Vision OHIO Convocation — (Jan. 17, 2006 ) Ohio University formally rolled out Vision OHIO, set new goals and recognized the ones it has achieved.
Vision OHIO Action Symposium — (May 3, 2006) Participants worked in small groups to assess the potential of initiatives suggested for implementation to help meet the university’s goals. Their feedback was discussed during the symposium and written comments were distributed to teams working on the plan. Click here for a list of the groups’ written responses to download.

Founders Day Convocation — (Feb. 2, 2007 )
This annual event, called the Vision OHIO Convocation last year, honors the institution's rich history, celebrates the current contributions of individuals who make it an outstanding academic institution and looks ahead to a vibrant future. As part of that theme, the chairs and co-chairs of the 10 Vision OHIO implementation teams shared news of their progress on the university's strategic priorities at an informational poster session for the campus community.
