Have Your Graduating Students Register with Career Services Early Winter Quarter!
They can register for the Bobcat Online Job Search program, which is designed for students graduating by August 31, 2006. The program is a package of four services including computerized resume referrals, online job postings, on-campus interviewing, and the Alumni Mentors Program.
To be eligible for these services, students must attend a 30-minute Registration Orientation, submit a registration form, pay a $5 fee, complete a profile,
and upload a resume.
To obtain the schedule for Winter Quarter 2006 Registration Orientation sessions,simply access our web site http://www.ohio.edu/careers/students/seminars.cfm. Regional campus students should contact their Student Services Office for career assistance and registration information/materials. Students who are not on the Athens campus for some other reason (studying abroad, student teaching, alumni, etc.), can contact our office, and we will assist them with the registration process.

The Mock Interview Program allows students to practice their interviewing skills while being videotaped. Students interested in participating in a Mock Interview should come to Career Services, sign up for an interview, leave a copy of their resume, and include a job description if they have one. Professional dress is requested during the interview. Interviews last one hour--approximately 30 minutes for the interview and 30 minutes watching the videotape while the interviewer provides critical feedback. Please do not wait until late into the quarter to sign up for a Mock Interview--slots fill quickly!
CareerSearch, which is a net-based employer research system containing a database of 3.2 million organizations, offers quick and easy access to accurate information from the leading industry-specific sources. A new addition to our services is VAULT Online Career Library. Using VAULT, students and alumni can obtain information regarding careers, employer profiles, access discussion areas, and read industry overviews. More information is available on our web site including how to obtain a password for VAULT.
Other services available in Career Services:
Career advising, resume and cover letter critiques, applications for graduate school tests, and seminars on various career-related topics (schedule on the web). Our web site includes handouts on resume writing, sample resumes, cover letters, references, basic and advanced interviewing, career search strategies, exploring majors and careers, planning for graduate school, curriculum vitae, sample vitae, and other useful information. Winter Quarter Events
* Career Fair Etiquette Seminar, Monday, February 6, 2006, 7-8 p.m., Bentley 236.
* Winter Career Fair, Wednesday, February 8, 2006, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Convocation Center. Shuttles begin at 10 a.m. in front of Baker Center and continue until 3.
