Curricular Updates

The Women’s Studies Program has launched a new Bachelor of Arts (BA4402). For more information, please go to www.ohiou.edu/womenstudies/.

The College of Communication is now the Scripps College of Communication. Please note that Scripps refers to the entire college. Journalism is still the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism.

In June the Trustees voted approval on the name change of the J. Warren McClure School from "Communication Systems Management" to "Information and Telecommunication [no S] Systems." The course prefix will change in SIS this Winter from COMT to ITS.

CHHS: New pre-major in Early Childhood (joint degree program of the College of Health and Human Services and the College of Education) is required for students entering Ohio University effective Fall Quarter 2006-2007.

A new pre-major code has been established for students entering Ohio University effective Fall Quarter 2006-2007 who are interested in pursing the Interior Architecture major. The selective admission process remains the same.

College of Business Transfer Policy, and Application Process
Applications will be accepted annualy at the end of freshman year. Students must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 and have completed ECON 103, ECON 104, MATH 163A, ENG 151 (or ENG 152 or ENG 153) or possess a cumulative GPA of no less than 2.75 and a 3.0 GPA or higher in ECON 103, ECON 104, MATH 163A, ENG 151 (or ENG 152 or ENG 153).

Applications will be accepted quarterly during the sophomore and junior years. Students must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 and have completed ECON 103, ECON 104, MATH 163A, ENG 151 (or ENG 152 or ENG 153) or possess a cumulative GPA of no less than 2.75 and a 3.0 GPA or higher in ECON 103, ECON 104, MATH 163A, ENG 151 (or ENG 152 or ENG 153). HTC has the following new Directors of Studies this fall:
Dr. Raymond Frost is replacing Dr. Jane Sojka and Dr. Mary Keifer as DOS for HTC Business Administration students.

Dr. Judith Lee has returned from sabbatical to resume as DOS for HTC Communication Studies students.

Dr. David Juedes is replacing Dr. Carl Bruggeman as DOS for HTC Computer Science students.
