Description:
Nancy Cartwright, best known as the voice of Bart Simpson on FOX's “The Simpsons,” began her undergraduate studies at Ohio University prior to her career in Hollywood. In 2012, she was welcomed back to campus as the Commencement speaker and awarded an honorary degree.
UCM professional staff members collaborated with a dozen OHIO students—who gained hands-on professional experience—to produce a documentary chronicling Nancy’s return to Ohio University as well as her induction into the Dayton area Broadcast Hall of Fame. The film was screened as part of the 2013 Athens International Film + Video Festival. UCM also coordinated additional showings on campus followed by Skype Q&A sessions with Nancy from her home near Los Angeles, enabling audiences in Athens to interact with the award-winning voice actress.
