Dec 19, 2007 By Sean O'Malley Skip to photos... After consulting with frequent users of lecture hall multimedia stations on the Athens campus, OIT has begun updating its Crestron touch screen control systems to make them easier to use and to provide more flexibility in projector and audio control. The following rooms will have the updated touch screens for Winter Quarter '07:
- Bentley 124, 140, 227, 233, 236 and 240
- Walter 135, 145, 235 and 245
Over summer, OIT plans to expand availability to the following rooms:
- Grover W115
- CSC 121B
- Morton 201, 235 and 237
- Clippinger 194
- Copeland 104
More Flexibility, Easier to Use
The new touch screen interface allows instructors to choose separate, simultaneous sources for classroom video and audio. For example, laptop video can be displayed on the projector while audio from a CD or DVD plays through the room's speakers. Assigning an output is as simple as touching the source button, then touching the output device's icon. To confirm each selection, the touch screen draws a colored line between the source and destination.
How to Use the New Interface
- Touch a source button:

- Touch the projector icon to send video from that source to the projector:

- Touch the speaker icon to send audio from that source to the room's speakers:

*To play audio from a different source, first touch the appropriate source button, then touch the speaker icon. The touch screen automatically draws colored lines from your source(es) to the projector and speaker icons to confirm your choices.
- If you need help, press the Help button in the lower left corner:
